“We gon’ take it to the moon. Take it to the stars.” Jay-Z and Kanye West feat Beyonce, “Lift Off”, Watch the Throne, 2011.

ORDER. It’s Wednesday already.  Whew the week seems to be flying pass me. Now that we have changed our attitude to the tune of positive and unclogged our pipes to set our minds free to strategize, we continue through the process of becoming more successful in the endeavors we are pursuing. Forbes released an article yesterday entitled, “Cash Kings 2011: Hip Hop’s Top Earners”. The list highlights the 20 highest earning hip hop stars with the top three being Jay-Z, Diddy, and Kanye West. Shout out to Nicki Minaj who came in at Number 15 making history as the first female rapper to make the list!

There is one thing in common that the Top 3 Earners have, as well as the others who made the list: they trusted the process. Jay-Z growing up in Marcy Projects to branding himself with his hands in music, basketball, club ownership, and ad firms. Diddy growing up in Mt. Vernon, NY to owning a record label, a clothing line, and having his Ciroc Vodka deal. Finally, Kanye West frequently raps about his process of growing up in Chicago, working day and night on creating beats, landing work on The Blueprint to now the highly anticipated Watch the Throne tour. Have mistakes been made? Sure. None of the top earners had a quick come up to fame. Now with great success, each of them remain in the process of working hard to maintain their reputation and fortune. We can learn something from the Top 20 Earners, that is, focus, hard work, dedication, and having strength to withstand the process is how to TAKE IT TO THE MOON AND THE STARS.

The DDR: Theodore Roosevelt once said, “If you could kick the person in the pants responsible for most of your trouble, you wouldn’t sit for a month.” Today, decide to trust the process, and do what you can, where you are, with what you have. WATCH THE THRONE: August 9, 2012. Peace.
